Biography

Dr. An’s Lab develops AI and Natural Language Processing methods to tackle various social problems, from media bias and framing, polarization, misinformation, and online hate, to healthy lifestyle and urban changes. Recently, her lab has focused on studying the social impact of AI. One specific project has been the study of AI large language models, such as ChatGPT, to evaluate their ability to align with human assessment and potentially replace cumbersome and costly human efforts.

Dr. An was able to support a graduate research assistant in her lab with the support of AnalytiXIN funding, and she has co-authored five papers alongside AnalytiXIN colleague, Haewoon Kwak.
