Biography

Kun Huang, PhD, leads the Precision Health Initiative Data Science and Informatics group, and is the director of the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Core for the TREAT-AD program for Alzheimer’s therapy development. Huang also serves as associate director for data science at the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center and leads the data science and informatics service for the National Cancer Institute Pediatric Cancer SPORE grant-funded research program.

Over the first three years of AnalytiXIN, the Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Sciences has established a strong collaboration relationship with Eli Lilly and Company’s immunology group. The collaborative work has identified genes associated with response to mirikizumab in ulcerative colitis patients, which was published in the journal Clinical and Translational Gastroenterology last November. In a new contract signed in January 2024, the Department brings expertise in bioinformatics and data science to analyze single-cell omics data generated from more than 100 patients.
