Alexandros (Alex) Psomas is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Purdue University. He is a theoretical computer scientist, working on a broad set of problems at the intersection of Computer Science and Economics. He applies tools and insights from computer science to study problems in a variety of economic and social science environments. He is the recipient of an NSF CAREER award, a Google Research Scholar Award, and a Google AI for Social Good Award. Prior to joining Purdue, he was a visiting researcher at Google Research, a Research Fellow at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing, and a postdoctoral fellow at Carnegie Mellon University. He received his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley in 2017, where he was advised by Christos Papadimitriou.
