Biography

Dr. Wang’s Lab is developing deep learning and machine learning approaches modeling single cell and spatial omics, and their applications in kidney, cancer, and neural system diseases. Wang has a long-standing interest in studying machine learning algorithms, tool development, and data analysis in bioinformatics. His academic training and research experience at the University of Missouri provided an excellent background in multiple disciplines, including computer science, statistics, and computational biology.

Dr. Wang has utilized AnalytiXIN funding to support PhD students, who have played an integral role in helping the progression of the Lab’s bioinformatics studies. Dr. Wang has also connected with AnalytiXIN colleagues at IU-hosted AnalytiXIN convenings.

Mustafa Abdalla was hired at IUPUI using AnalytiXIN funds and moved to Purdue University in July 2024.

Lei Ge was hired as a postdoctoral fellow using AnalytiXIN funds and has since moved into a faculty position at another university.
