Biography

Laura Zhou is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science at Indiana University School of Medicine. Prior to joining the department, Laura was a Postdocoral Research Fellow in the Department of Genetics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill under the guidance of Yun Li. Laura's research areas include developing statistical methods for relevant problems in biomedical research, particularly in the field of immunomics, genomics, and precision medicine, including neural networks and polygenic risk scores. Her collaborative interests include cancer research, chronic kidney disease, and underrepresented populations.

With the support of AnalytiXIN, Dr. Zhou has been able to expand the reach of her work through joining research teams to collaborate on projects, while continuing her methodological work.
